Dr. George Commons is an internationally renowned plastic surgeon, researcher, and educator. He is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and is a member of the Plastic Surgery Adjunct Clinical Faculty at Stanford University. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, a professional organization whose exacting standards of surgical excellence define the specialist surgeon. Dr. Commons is known for his extensive surgical experience, expertise in patient’s care, dedication to safety, and exceptional aesthetic results. Dr. Commons is a graduate of Allegheny College and University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. His years of experience in plastic surgery began first as a plastic surgery Resident and Fellow at Stanford University Medical Center, and continued as Chief of Plastic Surgery in the U.S. Air Force at Clark A.F.B. in the Philippines. After his time in the Air Force, he opened a private practice in Palo Alto where he continues his work in plastic surgery today. Dr. Commons is often asked to give presentations to his colleagues and at the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeon (ASAPS) meetings. He is called upon as an expert witness in plastic surgery litigation. Dr. Commons participates in research and development especially in stem cell research using fat from liposuction. Dr. Kaplan has practiced in Palo Alto and Stanford for more than 42 years including 15 years on the fulltime academic faculty at Stanford and 27 years in private practice in Palo Alto. He has devoted his practice to achieving the highest level of patient satisfaction by combining his scientific understanding, clinical experience, precise surgical technique, artistic skills and awareness of the unique needs of each patient. He now specializes in facial and body cosmetic surgery and also has maintained his practice in cleft lip and palate and reconstructive surgery for children. After 3 years at U.C.L.A. in engineering school and completing his senior year with honors in Zoology he entered U.C.L.A. Medical School and graduated with AOA honors for the top 10% in his class. He then did 6 years of resident training in plastic surgery and general surgery at Stanford. He then practiced plastic surgery at Stanford Medical School and Hospital as Associate Professor of Surgery. While at Stanford he was the Director of Emergency Services, and Director of the Cleft lip and palate Clinic. He also was the author of 43 journal articles, author of 14 books and book chapters. He has also was co-founder of Cemax Inc, a producer of CT scan designed individual synthetic body parts and also was research and clinical developer of injectable collagen for Collagen Corporation He has been in private practice in Palo Alto for the nearly 30 years and in addition is Adunct Clinical Professor of Surgery and coordinator for the Stanford Plastic Surgery Residents’ Cosmetic clinic training program. Dr. Kaplan is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) and certified by the American Board of General Surgery and the American Board of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Throughout his career he has donated his time and skills to doing free surgery in developing nations for children with facial birth defects and cleft lip and palate . Dr. Seung K. Kim has been practicing plastic surgery in the Bay area for more than twenty five years. His masterful technique and thoughtful innovations in the field have gained him recognition as one of the area’s premiere plastic surgeons. Dr. Kim currently devotes his time exclusively to aesthetic surgery and treatments after specializing in reconstructive micro-surgery in his early career. After graduating from Dartmouth College with honors including Summa Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa, Dr. Kim attended Stanford University for his entire medical education — medical school, general surgery and plastic surgery training.
